SCHOLARSHIP FUND RULES AND REGULATIONS

Eligibility
The Antigua and Barbuda Association of Calgary each year offers scholarships to its members, their eligible dependents and the community at large.

The applicant must be actively involved in the community and pursuing educational goals.

Qualifications

  • Registered fill time in at a post graduate institution e.g. University of Calgary but not for upgrading.
  • Applicant should be pursing their first diploma or degree.
  • First time applicants must  submit a completed application along with proof of payment and registration.
  • In subsequent years, all applications must submit proof of payment and transcript of marks along with completed applications. Applicants will be eligible for a maximum of four (4) years.
  • Applications must be submitted, along with supporting documents, on or before midnight of September 30th.

Obligations
Commit to volunteering to at least one community activity of the Association in the year the scholarship is given.

Note
All monies will be made payable to the parent/guardian of the applicant unless there is proof that the student pays his or her own way.

If the applicant drops out of school during that year, the money must be returned to the Association.

The Scholarship Committee reserves the right to make exceptions to accommodate special situations.

An application does not ensure a scholarship.  The amount awarded will be dependent on the number of applicants.
